With a career spanning 45 years and 22 albums, Dunfermline
rockers Nazareth are back with Rock ‘n’ Roll Telephone, their 23rd studio
album.
It’s their first since 2011’s Big Dogz and it’s a welcome
return to form featuring 11 original heavy rockers and bluesy ballads. Don’t
just take our word for it though – here’s what the critics are saying:
`The album is very much in the classic Nazareth tradition -
heavy, no frills rock ’n’ roll with that rasping voice its unmistakeable
signature. Dan McCafferty long ago sealed his reputation as one of the all-time
great rock singers, (and) if this album does prove to be his last, he’ll be
bowing out with that reputation intact.’ --Classic Rock magazine (UK) April
2014
’It’s downright amazing that after 45 years of triumph and tragedy Nazareth are
still making albums this damn good, still sounding fresh, vital and enthused by
their own music. Rock ’n’ Roll Telephone shows that they are still operating at
the peak of their powers.’ 9 out of 10 --Power Play April 2014
This may be the last album to feature original singer Dan
McCafferty, who has had to stand down from touring duties due to ill
health. If this does prove to be Dan’s last stand, he retires on a high
note with his legacy as one of rock’s greatest vocalists assured.
